My dear political friends have freaked out (except those who oddly support Obama) at the election of Obama. He stands for some grand leaps to socialism, yes. However, the Democrats DID NOT get the filibuster-free senate they wanted, and they don't have complete control of the Congress.
Namely, I'm not unhappy, matter-of-fact, I wanted to see Obama win this election. The Republican Party has lost it's way, it not the conservative party it was in the mid-90s that ran on bringing limited government to Washington. If the Republican Party is going to live to see better days, they need to embrace the message of Ron Paul and the "Ron Paul Republicans" and look at what the party once embraced.
We've had a democratic president with a democrat Congress before, we will live and still be the same great country we are today. In 2010, we can vote them out on a brand new message and platform, bringing the idea of peace and civil liberties to Washington. And in 2012, we can take back the White House, all is not lost, for we have everything to gain.
